general & menu questions

What’s with the name Little Eater? Little Eater is the loose translation of chef and founder Cara Mangini’s last name in Italian. Our style of service and approach to food are all about giving you choices to experience the abundance of each season at every moment as it unfolds. You can always get “a little of this and a little of that” to make a complete meal. When you eat with us, you’re a little eater—enjoying it all, no matter how much you eat.

My favorite menu item is gone! Will it come back? We think there is great joy in anticipating the seasons and celebrating ingredients as they come into their prime. As produce comes and goes throughout each season, we take pride in our menu reflecting those changes. We know it’s tough to say goodbye to your winter favorites but most likely the item will be back next season and we hope a new spring item will make you fall in love all over again.

Are any of your salads or other menu items gluten-free? We are not a completely gluten-free kitchen, but we maintain an assortment of gluten-free items. Look for the GF symbol on our menu and let us know if you have questions. We will gladly point out which items are gluten-free. And if you were curious, our granola is made with gluten-free oats.

Are any of your salads or other menu items vegan? The majority of our menu is vegan or can be made vegan. Don’t be afraid to ask for modifications—if we can, we’ll make changes for you.

Can I purchase drinks along with my catering order? Yes. Please see our online menu for current offerings.

our partnership with Local Matters

Can you tell me about your partnership with Local Matters? We believe in vegetable education and creating equitable access to delicious, health-supportive food for everyone. Local Matters is a Columbus-based nonprofit dedicated to creating healthy communities through food education, access, and advocacy. We are inspired by the organization's guiding values and the positive impact of their daily work and hope you are, too. Learn more here.

I see there's an option to make a donation to Local Matters through your online ordering system. How does that work? We have created a convenient opportunity to make a contribution to Local Matters through our online ordering platform. (A donation is most certainly optional.) We know our Little Eater community is passionate about local food, sustainability, and the power of nutrient-dense food—making a donation is another way to invest in and support our local community. Add as many $10 donations as you would like to your cart and check out. We'll send over the funds to our partners at Local Matters.

Where does my donation go? Your full donation goes directly to Local Matters where each contribution of $10 helps families in our community experience the joy of fresh, health-supportive food. Your generosity provides a Veggie Van meal kit with healthy ingredients for a family of four to complement food-education programming to teens and families from Columbus Urban League, I Am My Brother's Keeper, and Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Can I just make a donation directly through Local Matters? Absolutely, there are many ways that you can support Local Matters and the important work that they are doing. Visit their site to donate and learn more about ways to get involved.
